Homeschool Tutorial
Spring 2025
About our program
We guide children in deepening their connection to the earth and each other through: discovering the history of the land, observing the natural world, working and playing together, and practicing respect of self, others, and Nature.
Ages 6-10* Tuesdays
9am-1pm
Program Dates
Tuesdays: January 14 - May 20
(No class March 11th, Spring Break)
a tYPICAL PROGRAM DAY
During a typical day, we begin with Opening Circle: we share light conversation how we are, introduce the day’s lesson, and check in about the weather. Next, we engage with the day’s lesson. This could be learning about how seeds get from the parent plant to where they grow, the differences between amphibians and reptiles, studying the element of fire, or how the water cycle moves through our location. Lessons often involve stories and activities, exploration, or a game. After Opening Circle, we have snack and play time until lunch. After lunch is more free time for exploring and playing, and then we pack up and have Sit Spots, where we sit quietly (in the same spot each week) and observe the ever-changing world around us. To close our day together, we share roses (things that went well), and thorns (things that were challenging) about our day in closing circle.

This is an all outdoor program. We meet in the park, and do not have access to restrooms and running water. We practice “nature potty”, and provide hand sanitizer.
This is an all weather program. We require the correct gear for rain, heat, and cold. If children do not have the appropriate gear, they may not be able to participate in the day’s program. We will give you more information on gear upon registration, but in general, each child should be equipped with: backpack, 30oz (minimum) of water bottles, rain boots, rain pants, rain jackets, snow pants, winter coat, wool socks, wool or synthetic hat, waterproof gloves or mittens, winter boots (water proof and insulated), wool or synthetic base layers, long light pants and shirts for summer, sturdy waterproof shoes for non-winter days.
In extreme weather conditions, we may cancel class, start late, end early, or offer an option to meet on Zoom. We are unable to offer make-up classes for every class affected by weather, but we usually offer one make-up day each semester.
We are a nature school, and as such believe in the benefit of reasonable risky play.
This is a drop-off program.
You will be asked to read and agree to all of our policies upon registering. Please read and review them here.

Do you offer Scholarships?
Yes, please email us with how much financial help your family would need for the semester. When we have funds available, we offer them to those who need them.
I just moved here! Can we enroll mid semester?
Yes! We will prorate your tuition, and there is a $100 administrative fee per family added to process late registrations.
Can we come visit your program to see if we are a good fit?
We don’t allow visitors to our regular program, as we find it is disruptive to the experience for the children who are enrolled. Read our FAQ page to learn if our tutorial is a fit for your child.
What is your Refund Policy?
We will not offer refunds for the Winter/Spring semester after you have registered. Due to the short turn around between the registration period, and classes starting, we need to secure our enrollment numbers in order to be able to run the program. Please do not register if your child might not attend. If your child receives 4 Official Reminders, and has to be unenrolled from the program, no refund is possible. (Read Policies to understand this further)
Are you permitted to operate out of Warner Park?
Yes. We are officially permitted to operate out of each park at which we run programs. We pay the necessary permit, operation, and licensing fees
